Shoes

Shoes,
Brown Shoes,
My Brown Shoes,
My size 14 Brown shoes,
They go everywhere
Wherever.

They are on top of the world
But they must travel
to the Bottom,
to the World's Icy White Ends.

To where a deceivingly calm river bends,
Wherever I send
They go tither.

Up to a rocky windy mountain top
Where I could grab a cloud as a pillow
Deep down to a pitch-black mind
Where it's nothing but black and cold
as far as the eye can see
Is there anything but me?

My shoes my Shoes
They've been to muddy construction sites
to watch colorful concertos.
While having fun in American nights.

These plain looking shoes go everywhere
They have no home for they are the home
For my feet need them whenever.

They've seen the congregated snow,
and went to a sandy beach with pretty people,
To walk the blood-red sidewalks of Richmond
To see the the wonderful lectures of
culturally diverse professors at
the Gigantic Virginia Commonwealth University
(go rams!)

Now they sit here on cold concrete
Wondering where their next journey will be
Where they shall go to next.
